Dr. David E. Guggenheim: Ocean Explorer & Scientist. David is an award-winning photographer, with photographs ranging from underwater wildlife to fine art studio photography, spanning the Antarctic, the Falkland Islands/Malvinas, Cuba, Alaska, West Virginia, & the Shenandoah Valley. David has long been Muse Vineyards’ professional photographer (most of the photos on our website are his), and he’s also our website guru!
Sherman Hogue: World-renowned, award-winning professional photographer. Sherman began his photography career as an Army Photographer. His work has taken him throughout the world, from DC to Panama, rural Germany to the Philippines, the American Southwest to aurora-filled Alaska. He’s captured portraits of world leaders, elusive creatures, and expansive scenery. Sherman has the distinct honor of being married to our events manager, so you’ve seen his work in our ads, social media, and some website events.
Gregory Cowal:
Born in Cleveland and raised in Mexico. After living there for 50 years, Gregory Cowal has come back to his ro0ts and country of birth. A few months before the pandemic broke out, he sold his restaurant business and found himself at a crossroads in life. Greg thought back to his high school years of drawing and designing and remembered he’d had a talent for it, (he attributes this to his maternal grandfather who was a fabulous artist) and he decided to take it up again. He started back up as a hobby while we were all in “shut down” and soon realized there was a future in what he was creating and so began the history of “La Familia Caborca” which is the backbone of the drawings. Greg summarizes his work thus: “Nothing about my work is preconceived. When I start a drawing, I don’t know where it’s going. There’s always an element of surprise to it. That is the wonder of Art!” If the name looks familiar, you’re right! He’s co-owner Sally Cowal’s stepson.
Along with our award-winning wines, we offer lunch and other delicious food offerings. You are welcome to bring your own food for a picnic on our lovely groomed lawn. Outside food is not permitted in the Tasting Room, Veranda, or the upstairs Deck, however. Outside alcohol is not permitted anywhere on the property by Virginia state law.
